Welcome to my reconfigured 2015 website. Looks the same you say? Tell that to Google who had new requirements for “responsiveness.” But, I made one significant change. From the beginning, I’ve had an Image of the Week and a Blog, which were in a lot of ways the same thing. Now they are combined, so rather than neglect my Blog I’m going to at least be posting my weekly photo here.
So let’s pretend this is new, and that this is my inaugural posting. It makes my happy to start with a great wedding that I have been itching to post. This is Jackie and Tyler. They were Married in Empire, from where we planned a quick tour of Jackie’s favorite places in the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, which are coincidentally among my favorite places.
But wait, you say. “That’s a bride on a horse.” Jackie really wanted to get on a horse in her wedding dress but decided it would take too much time. Her mother decided to surprise her. But Jackie isn’t just about looking great posed on a horse. See hopped on and couldn’t wait to ride. From there we went to the Stocking Drive.
On the way to the reception we made a quick stop by the iconic D. H. Day Farm.
The Reception was at the Glen Arbor Town Hall. It’s not the most glamorous venue, but in my view hits the perfect balance between intimate and funky. You can never go wrong with knotty pine. Jackie and Tyler were the ultimate low maintenance couple, fun, friendly, clearly in love. We (photographers) can do everything in our power to make good photos, but the fact is the really amazing ones are about the couple themselves and we’re just there to make sure we get it.
